Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Please read these terms before booking work with us. If anything here is unclear, call us and we will explain it.
1. About these terms
These terms cover the use of this website and the holiday lighting services provided by Porter's Holiday Lighting. Booking work with us means you accept them. They do not replace any written quote or agreement we give you, and where a quote says something different, the quote wins.
2. Quotes and pricing
Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Our packages start at $997, and the final price depends on the size of your rooflines, how much of the property you want lit and the design you choose. A quote is based on what we can see and what you tell us. If the property turns out to be materially different from what was described, we will talk to you before doing anything that changes the price.
3. What an installation includes
A standard installation covers design, installation, maintenance for the season, removal after the holidays and storage of the display until the following season. Removal and storage are part of the job, not separate charges.
4. Deposit and payment
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your installation date, and your date is not reserved until we have received it. The remaining 50% is due on the day of installation. If you ask for products or services beyond your original approved estimate, that may add to the cost. We will tell you about any additional work before it goes on the final invoice.
5. Cancellations, refunds and rescheduling
Deposits are fully refundable if you cancel at least 14 days before your scheduled installation date. Cancellations made within 14 days of that date are non-refundable, because the date, the labour and the preparation have already been reserved for you. If you need to reschedule, contact us as soon as you can; rescheduling depends on the installation dates still available. If we are the ones who need to reschedule, because of weather, unsafe working conditions or anything else outside our control, your deposit stays applied to the rescheduled installation.
6. Who owns the lights
You do. We sell you the lighting products rather than leasing them to you each season, so the lights and holiday lighting products purchased through us are yours. We install them, and after the season we come back, remove them and store them for you until the following year.
7. Lights and materials
We supply and install commercial-grade LED lights. We do not install lights supplied by the customer, because we cannot verify their condition or warranty them. The exception is lights we installed for you previously, which remain covered by our warranty.
8. Faults and callbacks
If a fault develops in the lights we installed while your display is up, contact us and an installer will normally be out within 48 hours to put it right at no extra charge. This does not cover damage caused by anyone other than us, by alterations to the display, or by events outside our control. Permanent lighting is different: the InvisiLights system carries a five-year manufacturer warranty on the product itself, which we register for you at the time of installation.
9. In-season support
If something stops working while your display is up, contact us and an installer will normally be out within 48 hours to put it right. Severe weather and access problems can extend that, and we will tell you if they do.
10. Removal and storage
At the end of the holiday season we come back, remove the lighting we installed, organise it and store it for the following season. Removal timing depends on seasonal scheduling, our routes, the weather and crew availability. We cannot guarantee a specific removal date unless we have agreed one with you in writing.
11. Access to your property
In most cases you do not need to be home for the install or the take-down. Where we need access to a backyard, garage or locked area, someone will need to be there or arrange access for us. We may have to reschedule if we cannot safely reach the areas being lit.
12. Scheduling and weather
Holiday lighting is seasonal and weather-dependent. We will give you an install window and keep you updated, but we may move a visit when conditions make working at height unsafe.
13. Insurance and liability
We carry a general liability policy of $1 million and will provide a copy on request. Our liability for any claim connected with the work is limited to the amount you paid us for it, except where the law does not allow that limit.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute will be handled in the courts serving Rockwall County, Texas.
